Rex Menaced by an Emu!

The last thing one expects to encounter while patrolling the shores of Pitt Lake in one's striking scarlet serge tunic is Dromaius Novaehollandiae (an Emu). Rex's surprise is quite understandable as he comes face to face with the world's second-largest bird. All the more surprising since Rex knows, from grade four social studies, that the flightless Emu is indigenous to Australia where it is used for its meat, leather and oil. Rex also knows it's futile to attempt to outrun the three-toed behemoth, as it is capable of sprinting at a sporty 50 kph.

Rex, and other fine commodities.
